Location Overview

Serving our Neighbors in the Marathon Area

There are two Programs at this location. 

Food Pantry grocery distribution for Marathon, NY neighbors, every Tuesday – from 4pm to 5pm.

Food$en$e (low cost food co-op) pickup is available at our site the 3rd or 4th Thursday of the month – from 2pm to 4pm.

In addition, various community resources/services are available at our location during normal Food Pantry operations (Tues 4-5pm). 

These will be confirmed on each week on our website and on facebook.

These resources include (but are not limited to):

CAPCO (Cortland County Community Action Program, Inc.). The 3rd Tuesday of the month (usually).

CC Health Department.  Currently scheduled for 2/17, 3/10, 4/28, and 5/26.

Fidelis Care.  Dates TBD.

There are also a number of 'special events' (like a coat giveaway) -- those will be posted here as we schedule them.

We are open on Tuesdays from 4:00 PM / 5:00 PM. If you are in-line or checked-in by 5:00 PM – you will be served. If you cannot arrive by 5:00 PM, you can check-in by calling or texting (607) 423-8768. Leave your First & Last Name and your Expected Arrival Time. We will check you in and wait (up to 6:00 PM).

Program Overview

We provide a 3-day supply of food, per visit, per household (based on household size).

We are a “Choice” pantry (you select items, rather than being given a preset share).

As a rule, neighbors are expected to come every other week – but, if special circumstances occur – we can be flexible.



Program Qualifications

LOCATION:

If you live within the boundaries of the area covered by the Marathon School District, then you qualify for this pantry.

NEED:

-- You qualify if you are receiving support for federal/state programs which are income dependent (e.g. SNAP).

-- You qualify if your yearly household income is generally LESS THAN these guidelines (listed by household size): 1 - $35,910, 2 - $48,690, 3 - $61,470, 4 - $74,250, 5 - $87,030, 6 - $99,810, 7 - $112,590, 8 - $125,370.

-- You qualify if you are struggling with food costs (including employed people, seniors, families, single individuals, and the unhoused).

-- You qualify if you are experiencing temporary hardship, like job loss, unexpected bills, or needing help while waiting for government benefits like SNAP.

Food Sense provides a monthly box of staple grocery items at a discounted price as well as a selection of family-sized specials.

--  Verify the pickup day and time, and

--  Select your pickup location.

The Marathon pickup location is the Community Center (the same place as the Food Pantry). The pickup day for Marathon is usually the 3rd or 4th Thursday of the month.
