Alert! Beginning with the Saturday, April 12th distribution, we will be enforcing new parking lot/distribution rules. If you reside in the town of Essex, Essex Junction, Jericho, or Underhill, (“in-town” folks) you will be going through the distribution first. If you reside outside of those towns, then the parking lots attendants will be rerouting you to a new line that will go through the distribution once the in-town folks are done. For the out-of-town folks, it may be best to show up closer to 9:45-10am to avoid long waits.

Program Overview
The Essex Jericho Underhill Ecumenical Ministry was formed in 1983 through a collaboration of area churches to support an area foodshelf. Their thinking was that working together, in an expression of Christian unity, they could accomplish more than working separately. That thinking holds true today as we continue to operate a monthly food distribution to community members.
Program Qualifications
The EJU Food Shelf operates out of the basement of the Good Shepherd Church located at 273 Vermont Route 15 in Jericho, VT. As of August 2025, we will be returning to an in-person style of distribution. If you are new to our distribution, please bring a driver's license, utility bill, or lease which identifies you and your town of residence. All are welcome!

Program Overview
Because of our faith in Jesus Christ and his teachings concerning those in need, the mission of the Essex, Jericho, Underhill Ecumenical Ministry, a 501(c)(3) nondenominational Christian organization, is to operate a community food shelf, provide educational experiences, and provide emergency aid for community members.
Program Qualifications
All emergency aid requests are reviewed on a case by case basis by a committee. If you are experiencing an emergency and need assistance with rent, utilities, etc, please contact us via email or phone.
