Location Overview
The Wayne Township Food Pantry serves all residents of DuPage County who are in need of food. We offer three types of food programs: Drive-thru Food Pantry, Senior Walk-Up Market, and the Online Market. Registered clients may receive food on a weekly basis through one of the programs listed and may switch each week. Children and adult diapers may be available on the 1st and 3rd weeks of the month for registered clients (limit one diaper package per vehicle).
Important-The Wayne Township Food Pantry is located within the township building, 1/2 a block East of County Farm Road and 1/2 block West of Kuhn Road, in West Chicago. GPS may take you too far west, please note that we are East of County Farm Road. Pantry line on Wednesday starts at 9:30. Please DO NOT come earlier than 9:30 am for Wednesday's drive-thru distribution or you will be asked to leave. DO NOT park on the shoulder of North Avenue to wait for the line to open; you WILL BE BANNED from the pantry for two weeks if you do this.

DRIVE-THRU FOOD DISTRIBUTION-Wednesdays between 10 am and 11:45 am. Must register at first visit. You will receive an assortment of pre-packed food and non-food products, personal hygiene items, paper products, etc. Please make sure your trunk is empty to allow for our volunteers to load your groceries. *Line opens at 9:30. Please DO NOT come before 9:30 or after 11:45 or you will be turned away.
SENIOR WALK-UP MARKET- Wednesdays between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm. Must register at first visit. Seniors walk-up to designated stands and choose from an assortment of perishable food products including fresh produce, milk, bread, meats/meals, dairy products, etc.
ONLINE MARKET PROGRAM-You can choose products from an online menu and place your custom order by Wednesday for a Friday pick-up. Orders are picked-up on Fridays between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm. You must be registered in our food pantry system before you can access this service.
SNAP/MEDICAID APPLICATIONS AND ADVOCACY-We can assist you in applying for SNAP/Medicaid, advocate in case you have a problem, help with redeterminations, fax documents to IDHS, etc.
INFORMATION & REFERRALS-We provide information and referrals to other food pantries, public benefit programs, Clothes Closets, etc.
HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS-Clients who meet the criteria and guidelines of our programs may be eligible to participate in our annual holiday assistance programs such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. If you are not a client of our programs you will not be able to participate.
PROJECT BACKPACK-Eligible and pre-registered families will be invited to participate in our backpack and school supplies distribution. Must be an existing client of our programs to qualify.
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 16, 2024
This food pantry is required by the Illinois Department of Human Services to collect a verbal attestation of income eligibility from households on an annual basis.
Each household must state whether or not they have a monthly gross income at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level based on household size.
