Marcus Whiman Central School District Pop-Up Food Pantry

Marcus Whitman’s Pop-Up Food Distribution, in partnership with Foodlink, was launched in January 2020 as a grab-and-go initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic. What began as a rapid response to an urgent need quickly evolved into a full-scale food distribution program by the spring of 2020. On average, we serve 200 households, 200 senior citizens, 415 Adults, and 375 children, totaling about 1,000 individuals at each distribution. 

Since then, the program has remained a vital resource for families and individuals across our rural communities in Ontario and Yates Counties. Recognizing that food insecurity did not end with the pandemic, we have continued to expand and adapt our efforts to ensure consistent access to nutritious food for those who need it most.
