Location Overview

Located on the southside of US Route 6, West of Geneseo.

The Christian mission of the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry is to provide food, clothing, and short-term emergency assistance for families and individuals in need.

We aim to serve the whole person, striving to positively impact our guests’ total sense of wellness – economic, education, health, environment, and community – with the ambition of empowering our guests to live more functional, effective, and healthy lives.

Program Overview

Pantry Guests who qualify can receive food any time the Pantry is open.  (We do not have a designated "food day.") Our pantry is a 100% Guest-choice pantry.  However, Guests may choose order food online and pick the food up at a designated time, if they prefer.

We are implementing the "SWAP" (Supporting Wellness At Pantries) program, which helps our guests more readily identify healthier food options.  (SWAP ranks foods based on levels of sodium, added sugars, and saturated fats.)  


Program Qualifications

To qualify for food assistance the guest must earn less than 300% of the Federal Poverty Rate.  There is no geographic limitation/barrier for those seeking food assistance.

There are no qualifying income limits for clothing assistance.  There is no geographic limitation/barrier for those seeking clothing assistance.

To qualify for emergency monetary assistance the guest must earn less than 185% of the Federal Poverty Rate and reside within the Geneseo School District.

Program Overview

There are no income or geographic limitations to qualify for clothing assistance.  The clothing room includes shirts, pants, undergarments, pajamas, coats, shoes, and bedding, towels and other cloth items.  The clothing room is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  (The clothing room is not available on Fridays.)  Guests may shop for clothing once per week.

In addition to clothing we also have books, games, children's toys, cookware, and small housewares.  We also maintain a list of larger donated items (i.e., couches, chairs, beds, dressers, etc.) where we put the Guest in touch with the donor.

Program Overview
The Matthew 25 Center is a new resource hub designed to help our guests develop a more complete sense of wellness.  The programs in the Matthew 25 Center are being centered around the "Social Determinants of Health" which is a more holistic means of addressing an individual's sense of well-being.  It can be thought of as a resource center for our Guests with the objective of providing assistance beyond food.

Our Five Loaves program aims to serve the whole person.  Five Loaves strives to positively impact a guest's sense of wellness - economic, education, health, environment, and community - to empower the person to live a more functional, effective, and healthy life.  

Five Loaves provides in-depth, one-on-one coaching to help you design a plan you create to meet your needs and aspirations.  Your coach will help you set long-term goals, and then break those goals down into smaller, more manageable steps.  Your coach will support and encourage you throughout the process.  The program is free and confidential.
