Program Overview

REAL was started in 2014 as an extension of our Summer Lunch meal program for children and adults. Our team values all people and is invested in meeting both needs for food and social connection, and for helping provide opportunities for people to connect with one another regardless of educational, cultural, or economic background. We are all NEIGHBORS on this planet and it is our goal to demonstrate love and care for all.

Each meal is planned to be a filling, tasty, and nutritious meals. As funds allow, fresh salads and fruit are included in our menu. A 2024 survey of participants yielded a Hospitality/Welcome rating of Extremely Satisfied from 100% of our guests. The quality and variety of food received an 88% Extremely Satisfied and 12% Satisfied rating. Our dedicated group of all-volunteer staff have big hearts for service. New prep and serving volunteers are always welcome. Check the link on our webpage to learn more.

No requirements. A name and phone number are requested for future meal notifications. Registering for text alerts through the Vivery website is strongly encouraged.

Summer Lunch at the Park (Welsh Park location)

2024 Summer Lunch at the Park meals for June 10-13:

Kids' meals this week feature M -turkey/cheese sandwich, T-walking taco with grilled chicken, W- Yogurt, dry cereal, TH-grilled chicken & cheese with salad. All come with milk, fruit, and more.

Adult meals include M-Salad with grilled chicken, T - Turkey & cheese sandwich, W- Salad with cheese & veggies, TH - Ham sandwich. All include chips or crackers, veggies or fruit, and more. Water provided.

Summer Lunch at the Park
Program Overview
No child, or family, should go hungry during the summer break from school. Since 2012 our volunteers have provided lunches for children and families to help bridge the summer meal gap. Children receive nutritious kid-friendly boxed lunches through the Summer Food Service Program. Adults receive a cold lunch consisting of salad or sandwich with meet and/or cheese, snacks, and fresh fruit. Children's meals must be eaten on-site at our Welsh Park pavilion location due to USDA Food Safety rules.  

Program Qualifications
Children ages 0-18 qualify for the boxed lunch component. Any adult may receive a free adult lunch by signing in with name and phone number. Signing up for text notifications re: weather cancellations, menus, or upcoming events is encouraged.
