First Evangelist Housing and Community Development Corporation's is a non-profit organization whose mission is to alter the physical environment of Central City by rebuilding a stronger cohesive neighborhood and restoring educational and traditional moral values in the community, tearing down the barriers that hinder the growth and development of people.

First Evangelist Housing and Community Development Corporation 's Food Pantry provides nutritious food to individuals and families monthly to help with food insecurities. There are eligibility guidelines that we are required to follow in order to be eligible to receive food assistance. For information concerning guidelines, please call us at 504-523-8256. First Evangelist HCDC Food Pantry

Program Overview

First Evangelist HCDC Food Pantry works in collaboration with Second Harvest Food Bank to provide is an individual site that distributes bags of food directly to those in need who reside in Orleans Parish. 

FEHCDC Food Pantry staple foods such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and beans, along with fresh items like fruits, vegetables, and protein sources and non-perishable items when available.  Immediate help is offered  during crises, such as natural disasters or economic downturns.


Program Qualifications

Recipients seeking food bank assistance must complete an Application Declaration Statement of Eligibility.

Applicants must be a resident of Orleans Parish, (proof of residence is required) and must meet one of the following criteria:

Income guidelines, receive supplemental security income, receive aid to families with dependent children.
