The Chrisman Foodbank started in June 2018 as an outreach ministry of the Chrisman Christian Church. The foodbank was set up in the church gymnasium each month for distribution. Through the generosity of the State Bank of Chrisman, their former bank building was donated to the church to be used for the foodbank. In June 2019, the foodbank moved across the street to the State Bank of Chrisman where it has operated ever since.  The foodbank is staffed by volunteers from the community and is funded by grants and donations received from the Chrisman churches and community. The foodbank is available to those living in northern Edgar county. 

The foodbank follows the Emergency Food Program Eligibility Guidelines for qualification. To receive service, a picture ID and a bill or piece of mail showing residency in Brocton, Chrisman, Scottland, Redman, Hume or Metcalf is required.  These items will be used for verification in the Link2Feed program.
