Shelter
Brothers’ Keeper, a 501(c)(3) organization, provides temporary shelter to homeless veterans and unhoused men, many of whom face emotional, spiritual, mental, and financial challenges. We are a passionate community of individuals, churches, and partnerships dedicated to empowering our residents with dignified services.
For over 39 years, Brothers’ Keeper has built a strong reputation based on trust, respect, and rapport within the community. Our understanding of the struggles residents face is rooted in the experiences of some of our volunteers, who have personally confronted homelessness, poverty, mental health issues, and hunger.
This empathy drives our work, as we connect residents with local community agencies offering healthcare, mental health services, workforce development, and stable housing options. These partnerships address the whole person, removing barriers and providing a clear path forward. We also provided a safe space for residents to share their emotional stories during Hour of Power, a weekly, non-judgmental meeting that offers encouragement and support. Brothers’ Keeper is committed to offering compassionate, dignified shelter and sustenance during times of crises while building self-esteem, self-reliance, and life skills that enable residents to overcome homelessness and continue to be active, valued members of our community.
